Many teams across the country use and count on the right bumpstop for the job. In dirt track racing the tracks are rarely 100% smooth like on asphalt ovals. Dirt tracks even if very smooth like glass usually have a few small ruts (usually at corner entries) due to sliding cars cutting up the track. This is the primary reason why we designed and developed our progressive bumpstops that will help smooth out the transition for corner entry. On a smoother track you can benefit by using the harder compound bumpstop as it helps minimize the deflection throughout eventhough it is minimal every bit helps keep the tire contact patch on the track surface. On a rough track you can utilize the softer compounds as they are more forgiving and help with a specific shock combination can make a huge difference on the driver performance. There is a misconception that bumpstops are only needed on the Right Front shocks due to excessive load force. Today we have learned that not to be true as you can keep more of the tire contact patch on the track surface with many types of bumpstops.
